Sabina d.o.p. Olive Oil Tour. A magic journey to the roots of the Italian culinary tradition
On this special tour you’ll get to visit the Sabina region and the enchanted beauty of a pristine land just 30 km North of Rome. A perfect getaway from the crowds of the Eternal City to peacefully enjoy the rural side of Italy!
Your local host will guide you on a unique journey through unspoilt lands, where olive groves and oak woods stretch as far as the eye can see, embraced by the Apennine Mountains and scattered with picturesque medieval towns, castles and monasteries.
Ancient Romans planted their first olive trees in this region, where local farmers still proudly produce one of the best extra virgin olive oils in Italy.
You’ll have an exclusive opportunity to visit one of those farms and to discover the secrets of a local culinary gem: the Sabina DOP olive oil (Protected Designation of Origin).
After a fun and informative tasting of different varieties of EVOOs, you’ll take a fascinating trip to the medieval village of Palombara Sabina, where you’ll visit one of the oldest and largest olive trees in Europe: the monumental Ulivone (as locals call it).
The Sabina region is also a foodie’s paradise and you’ll enjoy a delicious meal at a local agriturismo (rural, traditional restaurant). Guided by your experienced host, you’ll taste the best local specialties while learning something more about the different uses of the royalty of local products: the unique Sabina DOP olive oil.
The cherry on the cake of this special journey will be a free sample of olive oil to take back home with you to remember the flavors of this magical land (one bottle per group).
Last but not least, if you plan to visit in November you’ll get a unique opportunity to take part in the olive harvest.
Do not hesitate, submit your request and get ready for an adventure of a lifetime!
