- Elevator available for a part of the Dome ascent. You must still climb approximately 300 steps to get to the very top. If there are seniors, disabled and claustrophobic people in your party we suggest they wait downstairs at the Cafè area as the staircase is tight and the steps are rather steep;

St. Peter’s Basilica is an active church and can be closed unexpectedly for liturgical ceremonies or unforeseen circumstances;
